Matt Huefner
A native of Erie, Pennsylvania, Matthew began dancing at the age of 16 through his experiences at the Erie Playhouse. He was introduced to the classical world of dance at Baldwin Wallace University by professors Sara Whale and Greg Daniels, and soon transferred to Mercyhurst where he completed his BFA in Dance in May of 2017. While attending MU, he had the pleasure of studying under the direction of Tauna Hunter, Michael Gleason, C. Noelle Partusch, Melissa Bobick, Lesley Borise-Scalise and Mark and Solveig Santillano. He has performed with the Mercyhurst Dancers, SoMar Dance Works, Lake Erie Ballet, North Pointe Ballet, and has appeared as a guest artist with the Ballet Eddy Toussaint du Montreal in their original production of Dracula. Most recently Matthew finished his fourth season with Dance NOW! Miami, a contemporary/modern company based in Miami, Florida. During his time with Dance NOW! Matthew completed numerous national and international tours performing works by Jose Limon, Isadora Duncan, Daniel Lewis, Hannah Baumgarten, Diego Salterini, Angela Gallo, and Chris Rudd. He is very excited to be continuing in the dance education field here in Jacksonville!"
